Kensington Computer Products today introduced the RDS FM Transmitter/Car Charger for iPod, a portable audio solution for iPod owners. The RDS (Radio Data System) FM Transmitter is the first of its kind, according to the company, allowing song and artist information from the iPod to be transmitted to the display of an RDS-enabled car stereo. RDS is a worldwide industry standard for FM radio communication that allows an FM radio broadcaster, along with a normal music signal, to send text messages on an FM sub-frequency. The RDS FM Transmitter/Car Charger for iPod is priced at $90, and will be available this month.
