updated 02:20 pm EDT, Fri June 23, 2006

Peak Pro goes Universal

BIAS today began shipping Peak Pro 5.2, bringing native Intel Mac compatibility to the audio editing software for Mac OS X as a Universal Binary. Sample Rate Conversion in Peak Pro 5.2 showed nearly 130 percent increased performance running on an Intel-based MacBook Pro versus a 1.67GHz PowerBook G4, according to BIAS, and using Peak Pro's RMS Normalization DSP resulted in a 66 percent performance increase. The update also utilizes a non-hardware based method of copy protection to offer greater flexibility for users who wish to retain the use of their USB ports for other peripherals. Peak Pro allows users to create unique dance loop and remixes, optimizing audio for podcasting or internet streaming. Peak Pro 5.2 is priced at $600, and requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later.
