ConceptDraw VI features SVG export

CS Odessa today released ConceptDraw VI, the latest iteration of its diagramming and drawing software. ConceptDraw VI features texture filling, export to Scalable Vector Graphics format (SVG), a new extended set of shape libraries/samples, and improvements to software usability. The ability to export ConceptDraw documents to SVG, the XML-based graphic standard from W3C, sets the stage for document exchange with nearly any application that supports vector drawings. ConceptDraw VI Professional is priced at $300, while the Standard edition is available for $150. ConceptDraw VI requires Mac OS X 10.1.5 or later.

ConceptDraw VI includes enhanced templates and libraries for data and business diagrams, such as Yourdon Structured Method, IDEF02 diagrams, and more. The software also adds new shapes to marketing, presentations, access, security, vector alphabet, and other libraries.

ConceptDraw Bad-Service

Attention / Important I have purchased ConceptDraw V Standard from the Internet for USD149.00 in November 2004. I was quite happy with the software until my Mac crashed two weeks ago and with it I have lost all the software. Now since over one week I try to get in contact with the ConceptDraw company to get a copy of the software but nobody is interested to answer…what about after sales service, or the “famous” customer service = customer is everything….yeah right, sorry to say, but I slowly going in the direction of supporting pirate software…why should I pay a lot and nobody takes care…right? With the pirate software I would pay less and get as well less-no support. My recommendation is, when you don’t need support ever you might be ok with ConceptDraw otherwise get an other one and even a better one cheaper. 22th May 2007 Rene Forster

You used the software from ConceptDraw since 11/2004 and have been happy with it until your mac crashed... I do not see your point. I would feel greatly honered using a stable and useful software for that long.

And the missing help: Sorry, but I have seen such a helpful response to your insulting note in the ConceptDraw Community. I have not seen a 2004 customer treated with such an appropriate professionality in my whole life.

Think twice before behaving irresponsible again! Gerhard Trimpin

Your case of bad service raises the question why you never made a backup! Seems to be pretty stupid! I am surprised that you assume that a software you bought 2.5 years ago will still be delivered to you again on request. I never heard of such a thing. We have ConceptDraw running on Mac, Linux (which is not officially supported, but for which we got as much help as could be given, I guess) and Windows. I was quite pleased with the support so far. I know that a system crash and the rebuild is an awful experience, having just got over one two weeks ago. To my mind the comments reflect the angst of that experience rather than anything I have seen of the ConceptDraw products or people.

Living in New Zealand and using a lot of software from US companies with no local support means relying on overnight responses to problems due to time zones. Therefore getting a poor or sloppy response to a problems means effectively a 48hr turn around and really high blood pressure. Not something I have experienced from the ConceptDraw people.

Surely the issue here is a lack of backup from the user, as in an emergency you can download a trial version of the current software and run that. I have not read the license agreement, but the norm is 12 months support unless you are paying an annual support fee.

I do not know many companies that would offer suuport this long outside of the EULA, if the user lost his software (disks or downloads) for a three year old version of the software.
