iPod Price Drop
This price drop is mainly due to the soaring Canadian dollar which is at a 28 year high, this coupled with the gradual slide of the American dollar in all markets (caused by the ballooning U.S. deficit and pressure from the burgeoning Asian markets) is making the price of all goods imported from the U.S. into Canada considerably cheaper. The Canadian dollar has gained 50% in value in recent years (from an all time low of $.60 to the USD to $.90) in relation to its US counterpart. The Canadian economy has been running a surplus for over a decade, which tends to encourage speculators and add to the value of any nation's currency, not to mention a GDP growth rate at or near the top of the G8.
Whatever the economic fundamentals, iPods are costing less these days. Yay!
