Head legal exec departs

Apple's senior vice president, general counsel and secretary Nancy Heinen has left the company. Heinen is the third Apple exec to leave the company since late March, when software CTO Avie Tevanian and senior vice president of Apple's iPod division Jon Rubinstein departed. Heinen, like Tevanian and Rubinstein, joined Apple in September of 1997 following the company's acquisition of NeXT Software, according to AppleInsider. Heinen served as the primary legal officer for Apple, and was responsible for overseeing all legal matters. Though the terms of her departure remain unclear, the exec sold more than $7.5 million in Apple shares which she acquired under the 2003 Employee Stock Plan. An Apple representative confirmed that Heinen left the company, but could not clarify the terms of her departure, according to the report. Heinen's replacement has yet to be named.

    Interesting times

So the head of Apple legal has left... weird. The dawn of a kinder gentler Apple, or will they start sporting jack boots? ;)

really I wouldn't look at this as being too much of a shake up. At some point it just becomes time to cash out and move on. What better time to do it than when the stock is near its all time high and the company is in the black.

    Just so

I agree, after some years toiling in the legal brickyard, the lady is cashing out and likely prepping to live a real life. I would, backed with a minimum of 8 million in assets. Time to kick back and do what you want to do.

    A tough job to fill

Where in this country will Apple manage to find another lawyer?
