Parallels today released the latest beta of Parallels Workstation for Mac OS X, its software that allows users to run Windows alongside Mac OS X (without rebooting) on Intel-based Macs. Beta 5 brings new USB support, a Shared Folder function to easily share documents between Windows and Mac OS X, and improved sound support. The latest version also adds support for dynamic screen resolutions, offering a list of available screen resolutions is dynamically populated with primary OS resolutions. In addition, it adds an optional "transition cube" animation for transitioning to and from fullscreen mode and a new default network adapter for bridged mode. Although the release date is not yet finalized, users who pre-order their copy of Parallels Workstation will receive $10 off the $50 retail price.
