New Telestream components for FCP

Telestream (Booth SL-2781) today announced expansion of the Flip4Mac Pro product line to include new import support for disk-based cameras and media servers into Final Cut Pro for editing. The company added a new Import Component for Grass Valley Infinity Series line of IT-immersed products for electronic newsgathering and field production as well as announced that Import/Export Components for Grass Valley Profile video server and K2 media client and media server systems will soon be available. These new components include support for Intel-powered Macs and Mac Power PCs. The new Flip4Mac Components and enhancements are being demonstrated in Telestream at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention, which runs from April 24-27 in Las Vegas.

"We are pleased to expand Flip4Mac support into Final Cut Pro for these industry-leading products from Grass Valley," said Dan Castles, Telestream's CEO. "Whether customer needs are MXF-based or server-based, we now offer the products to help these users integrate digital media into their workflows."

The Flip4Mac Import Component for the Infinity Series products adds support for this new digital acquisition system from Thomson. The component initially supports DV25 and uncompressed audio file transfer into Final Cut Pro for editing. Additional format support is planned. Users can browse Infinity devices, preview clips, rename files and easily import content with the click of a mouse. The Flip4Mac Infinity Component is slated for July 2006 availability.

"We're pleased that Telestream continues to expand their line of import tools for Final Cut Pro users to include Grass Valley servers and our new Infinity Series of products," said Marc Valentin, president of the Grass Valley business within Thomson. "This tight integration is key to providing faster, more convenient workflow for transferring media from our file-based Infinity products into Final Cut Pro editing environments."

Telestream also announced availability of its Flip4Mac Import/Export Components for Grass Valley Profile and K2 servers. These components provide file compatibility and enable fast, efficient file transfer into Final Cut Pro systems for editing.
