Jobs delays India trip

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has delayed his visit to India. Originally slated for early April, Jobs first official visit to the country has now been postponed to September, according to CIOL. The visit follows reports that Apple will setup a tech support/call center in Banglore. “Recruitments for the Apple's R&D center and technical support facility are (still) going on. It might take some more time to complete this exercise,” sources familiar with Apple Inc. said. The report says tha Jobs preferred t have "Apple's R&D center", which will employ 3000 people by 2007, operational before his visit.

    Get it right

't' is a perfectly good Yorkshire expression, obviously Steve Jobs has finally found his true paternal origin. Look out for 'by tat' to infiltrate his speeches any time now.

    Language problems

My experience with India based tech support is abyssmal. Vonage uses it - I can't understand a word they say, and they don't understand me at all, much less my problem. They were obviously reading from a script: "Have you restarted your modem, sir?" over and over. I must have asked them to repeat themselves 50X in an unnecssarily long call. UGH.

    Call Center Visit

Since Apple just fired the handful of first hires for its call center in Bangalore, now would probably not be the best time for Mr. Jobs to visit, don't you think?
