IK ships AmpliTube 2.0
IK Multimedia has begun shipping AmpliTube 2.0, a major upgrade to the guitar amp and effects processing plug-in. AmpliTube offers 14 preamps and 14 amp EQs, seven power amps, 16 cabinets, six microphone models with four replacement options each, 21 stomp effects, and 11 rack effects. The plug-in includes five separate modules that include "Tuner," "Stomp," "Amp Head," "Mic'd Cabinet," and "Rack Effects" on two series or parallel guitar rigs. IK's new DSM (Dynamic Saturation Modeling) technology is the workhorse behind AmpliTube 2's unique sound, offering the capability to accurately model the real sonic qualities of hardware gear to provide enhanced tones. Version 2.0 features more than 80 guitar gear emulations, with popular amp models based on Fender, Vox, Marshall, THD, Supro, and others. AmpliTube 2 is priced at $400, and requires Mac OS X 10.3 or later.
