SightSpeed comes to Intel Macs

SightSpeed today released SightSpeed 4.5, offering native compatibility with Apple's Intel-based Macs. The Universal Binary application provides real-time two-way video and voice communications over the internet, as well as enhanced privacy features. The software enables users to make free one-to-one video/voice calling, video mail/video blog recording, text messaging, and community calling. SightSpeed 4.5 requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, and the basic service plan is available for free. The company also offers a pro service plan for $5/month that provides numerous additional features and does not impose a time limit on voice mail storage.

This is the only software I've been able to use to teleconference with my family's PCs. I can use iChat but I've never heard any sound input able to go through with the remote PC using AIM 5.4, 5.5, or Trillian. I've also tried iNeen and iVisit but their interfaces weren't as intuitive. So again, if you're going to do cross-platform video chats, this has been the best so far.

This program should be a huge hit since: 1) Basic usage is free 2) Just a quicktime capture compatible camera is ok (no need for isight) 3) Not in suspicious dealings with Intel (e.g. AMD is welcome) 4) Does work on both platforms, windows and OS X

It makes me wonder really...
