Intel Mac mini sits well with media

Intel Mac mini, media

Apple's new Intel-based Mac mini is getting more attention in the media, as members of the press continue to offer their thoughts about the small systems designed to lure potential switchers from other platforms. The Chicago Tribune has published an article describing the experience of using the latest Mac mini, which the columnist says is "great for making your own music, movies and visual art." Gamers and big-time business users are advised to steer clear, however, because most applications are aimed at the PC market and Mac versions usually come as "cobbled-together afterthoughts, if at all." Despite the pitfalls, many may be drawn to Apple's least-expensive models by the ease of setting up a home WiFi network, retrieving pictures from a digital camera, or the presence of Office--a near-necessity in the business realm.

    reversal

He reversed the truth - most Windows programs are hobbled together rip offs of Mac programs. He fails to realize all of the Mac only programs too.

    Duel OS and Gaming

First of all, If you want to game, buy a PS2/3 or a XBox. As far as Duel OS goes. Think of this. Easy OS switching, like user switching. Windoze Users will probably find themselves using Mac OS more often with time, only switching back for that program that Mac does not have, or that they have not yet bought for the Mac. This would be the best way to introduce the Mac OS to Windoze users, Know-body want's to through away there investment in Windoze software to do this switch, even if they are thinking about it. After a few years, and there investment gets obsolete, they would decide for the better OS, and we all know which one that is.

    "easy OS switching...?"

There already is a "dual OS" availability. It's called VPC (virtual pc). If you already own a hard copy of an MS OS, you can, for a fairly low price run a winblows emulation side-by-side with the mac as your main. You don't even have to exit out of your Mac environment and apps. It does well for me with aps like AutoCAD. And with the switch to intel and X86, look for even faster emulation speeds.

    VPC

VirtualPC doesn't work on Intel macs yet. I'd rather see VMWare, though.
