In Brief: Apple now employs an ally of Tom DeLay, a Republican lawyer well versed in redrawing congressional districts: "The Cupertino, Calif.-based computer maker now employs Joby Fortson, a former aide to Representative Joe Barton, a Texas Republican, according to The New Yorker Magazine."... AOL today announced the creation of a new Open AIM initiative designed to allow developers to build new plugins and custom communications clients based on the popular AIM platform using its new AIM SDK, which features support for AOL's proprietary protocols....
