Cheetah3D 3.0 released
Cheetah3D.com today released Cheetah3D 3.0, an update to the application that can model, animate, and render 3D objects. Version 3.0 is available as a Universal Binary, offering native support for Intel-based Macs that vastly improves performance on those systems. A new UV editor alongside UV unwrapping tools allow users to assign UV coordinates to complex meshes, and users can paint textures directly in Cheetah3D with various pressure-sensitive brushes, as well as the basic drawing tools. The update includes a PDF file loader, allowing users to move vector drawings and logos from almost any Mac OS X vector drawing program to Cheetah3D. Version 3.0 boasts improved workflow, the ability to render the Piranesi EPix image format, and more. Cheetah3D 3.0 is available for $100 (system requirements were unavailable).
