Apple warranty expansion
Apple has expanded its warranties to a global service coverage for all Apple servers, iPods, portable computers, displays, desktop computers, and extended service contracts, according to reports. AppleInsider has reported the new policy, noting its usefulness when travelling outside of the U.S. with U.S.-specific Apple products, as they may now be serviced in other countries while still under warranty. "Customers who seek service in a country other than the country in which the covered product was purchased will have regional-regulated parts replaced with an equivalent, regional-specific part," says the report. The global service coverage had previously been available only for iPods and portable computers.
