New iPod software
Avanquest Software announced it will retail four new titles of iPod software, and announced another two coming in February. WebPodStudio, PodPresenter, iPocketBible, and iExtend are all applications designed to benefit both iPod consumers and PodCast creators. WebPodCast aids in the production of audio and video PodCasts using a microphone, camera, and the WebPodStudio application. WebPodStudio by Lionhardt Technologies requires Windows XP, NT, or 2003, DirectX 8.x or higher, is compatible with Apple’s new iPod Video 5G and is priced at $50.
PodPresenter by ThinkFree transforms the iPod into a portable PowerPoint graphics system. Users can create new slide presentations or edit and view existing slides by plugging the iPod into any Mac or Windows machine. PodPresenter requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later, iTunes 4.7 or later, and iPhoto 4.0.3 or later, and is priced at $30.
iPocketBible provides the complete and unabridged text and audio recording of The Holy Bible, New Living Translation by Laridian. Users click and drag specific books or chapters of interest, import the entire Bible for listening and reading, or listen to and read the synched audio and visual Bible. iPocketBible works with iTunes on any Mac or Windows machine with a CD-ROM drive, and costs $40.
iExtend is a synchronization tool for organizing emails, notes, calendars, contacts, and digital files while listening to music on the iPod. iExtend by Memeo features SmartPicks, which automatically locate and back-up specific documents and file types for use on the iPod. Once the iPod is reconnected to a computer, the files versions and archives are updated. iExtend costs $30.
WebPodStudio, PodPresenter, iPocketBible, and iExtend will be available from Avanquest Software January 30, 2006.
