Mac Lotus, Domino support
IBM today officially announced expanded Mac support for Lotus Notes 7 and Lotus Domino Web Access. IBM said it will provide expanded support for Mac OS X, including support for Lotus Notes 7 on Apple's Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger" with integrated Lotus Sametime instant messaging, and plans to support Apple's new Intel-based Macs. Additionally, IBM announced forthcoming Macintosh support for Domino Web Access, IBM's browser-based messaging client, via the open-source Firefox browser. Last week we reported that the tech-giant would soon unveil its plans to expand Mac support, offering Mac users more presence in the business arena despite their minority status.

This article would be useful to me if an actual link to the referenced announcement was provided instead of a link to another MacNN article and IBM's main webpage.

All of the Macs in a network can now also access IBM DB/2 on iSeries ( AS/400 ), AIX, Linux and Windows. Applications on both OS X and 9.2.2 are supported, with the actual connection to IBM's proprietary databases being completed on behalf of the Macs by an ODBC Router (using IBM's own DB/2 driver). in a session at Lotusphere. This announcement is very exciting.. it means that with a Linux backend - you can run a domino server and a Mac front end with all the bells. The only issue is that the chat server only runs on AS/400 and Windows. Not Linux - but for a collaboration/calendar - scheduling - replication of data and applications - this is a great thing for Macs.
