USBPhone for Mac OS X

Chwang Yi Company today announced the availability of the USBPhone, which the company claims is the first USB phone handset for Skype users to include full-featured control application software for Mac OS X systems. "While the USBPhone works perfectly with either Mac OS X or Win XP systems, the key value it offers today is to users of OS X 10.3 and 10.4, because of the USBPhone control application that is included. Until now, doing things such as adjusting ringtones, assigning keypad buttons, setting number presets and so forth have not been possible for these Mac users. Now, they are, with this new phone and software." The USBPhone works with any Mac or PC running OS X 10.3 or higher, or Win XP. The USBPhone includes a CD with the Win XP software. The Mac OS X software is a free download from the Chwang Yi web site. The USBPhone is shipping starting today for $24. [updated]

    Is this US only?

Chwang Yi's Web site states on checkout to "make sure to select US or International shipping options", but I could not find anything besides US shipping.

    So

What we really need is a wireless Skype phone. These tethered units (on a laptop) harkens back to the ol' Motorola car phone days.

    heh.

the phone is not officially certified by skype like the free-1 phone from ipevo.com, there driver looks like a stolen free -1 driver, its a cheap chinese ripp off that should not be advertised here

    support skype certified!

yes, ipevo's free-1 is skype certified with great design. there are a lot of followers from Taiwan or China as they do with other gadgets. Though this fake stuff costs a bit less then ipevo's free-1, however, to me, they don't need to pay license fee to skype and they just copy other's idea, $24 is too expensive and i won't even pay a dollor to buy it!
