Apple Specialist Pavilion

by Actoris Software, EZQuest, and Xsilva Systems. Actoris' Xpress Schedule 1.1 allows users to create work schedules for employees. New features include the ability to print graphical views of schedules, interactive calculations for scheduled hours during the scheduling process, support for international date formats, improvements to printed schedules, a new two-week schedule report, an integrated software update function, and the ability to email schedules. Xpress Schedule provides versions for both Mac and PC (availability and pricing unavailable).

EZQuest previewed the Thunder Pro A/V Studio DUAL Interface, the Studio QUAD Interface, the Studio RAID Triple Interface, the Studio RAID+ Triple Interface and the Studio Rack 8. The Thunder Pro Audio/Video Studio family of drives boasts many new features, such as a smart on/off power switch in front, which automatically turns the drive on/off when the drive is plugged in/unplugged, and an EZport Firewire 400 front-access port (for quick connect/disconnect), supporting Plug and Play setup, all hot swappable. The Studio Rack 8 is a 19' rackmount unit that can be loaded with up to 8 Thunder Pro A/V Studio QUAD Interface drives. These drives can be removed from your rack and used as desktop devices without the need for a base station. They can be striped as RAID 0 for maximum capacity and speed, used as a mirrored RAID for maximum data security or serve as an archival device (availability and pricing were unavailable).

Xsilva's LightSpeed 1.1 is the first public release of Xsilva's multi-user Point of Sale system, built exclusively for Mac OS X. Xsilva CEO Dax Dasilva demonstrated a new 'floating' Point of Sale interface as well as a number of sales and backend tools built into the LightSpeed product at Expo this week. Lightspeed version 1.1 will be available as a free download to registered users and as a free 30-day trial to prospective customers in early February.
