Google Earth for Mac OS X

Google today released the highly-anticipated , its simulation software that incorporates satellite imagery, maps, and the company's search functionality that allows users to fly from space directly into their own neighborhoods. "We're happy to finally have some good news for the, ahem, vocal Mac enthusiasts we've been hearing from," one member of the Google Earth Team said. The software supports searches for schools, parks, restaurants, and hotels. Users can get driving directions, save or share searches, and add annotations. Google Earth is available for free, and requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

    No Download link yet

Google seams to have updated all the pages EXCEPT the actual page that links to the download, the only option is for an .exe

It's on the 'news' page & the 'Download' page but both these pages link to the regular 'Download for Windows' page at http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html

    Still Beta!

We seem to have another mis-communication in reporting... I downloaded this version directly from Google... and it says that it's a beta (version data is "3.1.0527.0-beta"). When you only say "they released Google Earth" it implies it's a release version.

Nevertheless, having used the "leaked" beta, this one does seem to be much smoother and more stable.

I got it via Google site

... and while it gives the same version that paulc lists, http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html now has a radio button for "Mac OS X (10.4)".

    Google Beta

Google 'Beta' goes on for years. I just used it and the photos in my area are much higher resolution than when I last used it on a PC. Unfortunately, I can clearly see the state of the (flat) roof on our property!! (As could any buyer).
