It features user-selectable fan speed settings, 300MB/sec or 3.0Gbits/sec data transfer rate per drive, support for host adapter, operating system, and software-based RAID or JBOD configurations. Included are two fully shielded eSATA cables. FirmTek's SeriTek/2EN2 two-bay Serial ATA enclosure will be available during the first quarter of this year for $200, with specially priced bundles with host adapter also available.

The new addition to FirmTek's Serial ATA adapters for Macs and Windows computers was also announced. The SeriTek/1SM2 PC Card is a Type II 32-bit CardBus host adapter which brings Serial ATA 1.5Gbps storage transfer performance to notebook computers. It has the ability to hot-swap hard drives without having to power down the notebook (even drives which are configured as part of a RAID array). SeriTek/1SM2 supports two 3.5 SATA hard disk drives, supports operating system and software-based RAID or JBOD configurations, compatibility with FirmTek's full line of hard drive enclosures, allows exchanging of SATA hard drives between multiple desktop and notebook computers, and is designed as a native SATA solution; no Parallel ATA/USB/Firewire to Serial ATA bridge chips that might impact performance and reliability. SeriTek/1SM2 is compatible with G4+ Macintosh and PC notebooks with PC Card 32-bit CardBus Type II slots, and supports Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. I will be available during the first quarter of this year for $90, with bundle prices available.
