Wireless color MFC

today introduced the MFC-820cw, its color multi-function center machine (MFC) featuring a 2.5-inch color LCD and built-in 802.11b/g wireless support. The 6-in-1 device includes color inkjet printer; copier; scanner; PhotoCapture Center; fax; and PC fax functions. The MFC-820cw offers photo quality color printing, copying, and scanning alongside stand-alone color faxing. Featuring up to 6,000 x 1,200 dpi color printing, the MFC contains an automatic 10-page document feeder. Brother's MFC-820cw is expected to ship in February for $250.

The device can scan a document to any computer on the network, fax documents from computers on the network using Brother software, receive faxes to any Windows-based computer on the network, and access images that are stored on media cards inserted into the "PhotoCapture Center" of the MFC-820cw.

When using the built-in 802.11b/g wireless connectivity, the multi-function center machine features "SecureEasySetup," easing the installation process of the MFC on a wireless network. The "SecureEasySetup" feature automatically configures the wireless network and security settings of the MFC-820cw with the push of a button, enabling simple and secure communications with a wireless router which supports the feature.
