iBank 2 for Tiger

IGG Software today released , a new and completely rewritten version of its financial management application for Mac OS X. Users can manage budgets and investment portfolios, reconcile accounts with bank statements, work with multiple currencies, and import transactions from QIF, OFX, and CSV files. iBank supports AppleScript and Automator, allowing customized workflow for each user. The application also offers the ability to schedule and memorize transactions, view income and expenditure charts, export QIF and CSV files, print customized checks, and more. iBank 2 is available for $40, with upgrades for existing users priced at $20. The software requires Mac OS X 10.4.

iBank 2 features smart import rules that allow users to download bank transactions without extraneous bank-defined characters, instead recognizing common transactions while applying user-defined payees, transaction types, and budget categories to each.

Budgeting, forecasting, and check printing

The software contains a new budgeting feature enabling users to categorize and track income and expenses, providing warnings to users before they dip into "the red". A financial forecasting feature allows projection of balances into the future, and iBank can print customizable checks without using pre-bought "check stock." Automator workflows allow users to print checks with a single click to anyone listed in Apple's Address Book application.
