AppZapper for OS X Tiger
AppZapper.com today released for Mac OS X 10.4 and above, allowing users to confidently uninstall nearly any application via drag-and-drop. AppZapper is designed to intelligently locate leftover support files and allow users to place them in the trash with a single click. AppZapper removes extra preferences, caches, and other support files generated during launch that can at times be much larger than the original applications. The process of removing abandoned files can enhance system performance, and increase stability of the operating system. AppZapper is available for $13, and requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

Appzapper : Thumbs Up

This is definitely a must have thumbs up app from developers Brian and Austin. Like most OSX users who have grown comfortable with their system, they start to muck around with installing every new app that comes out. They (we) soon realize that, like most of them, they end up in the Trash. Great, but as we all now know, that’s not the end of them. Fortunately, NOT like Windows, the remenants are usually folders and simple preferance files, help files….Royal Pain to delete by hand.
AppZapper to the rescue. I have used it a multitude of times, first on some old secondary hard drive apps I know I will never use, and then on some main stream apps that have become out dated. Fast, simple, thorough…. and safe. You are always in control with a simple “check box” away of NOT deleting something. You can also configure appzapper to keep it’s paws off some critical apps for the “just in case” approach. The addition of a log to follow what appzapper has done is also a great perk. Its interface is as simple, uncluttered and as straight forward as you want it to be.
…and here is another app that Apple may hopefully swallow (incorporate) up in its next OS release and compensate Brian and Austin with a 60 foot yacht and then some….
