    Macnn headline affliction

Maybe it's the new page format, but these days, you are putting out headlines that read like established fact, but are only guesses made by 3rd parties. Stop that!

    "ALLEGEDLY"

Who's the editor around here? Who writes these headlines?

    Headlines

I've got to agree with the first poster, the new MacNN format sucks. The headlines are too short to convey what the story is about, and there is no text discription until I click on the link. Then, only to find that someone named Bambi has made a bunch of incredibly vague WAGs about what might come to pass in 2006, most of which had nothing to do with Apple, and several of which were so preposterous that I had to check my calendar to make sure it wasn't April 1st!

    emulate older version

Use this page to get a fairly close emulation of the old MacNN format: http://grape.macnn.com/news/ I agree the new format is intolerable.

    Totally agreed

The new headline format is horrible. Before you used to be able to read a bit of everything on one page, now this forces you to click all over the place. Placing the "related stories" before the top stories adds to the confusion. While esthetically pleasing, the new layout is a huge step back in terms of convenience.

    Format bashing

I have to agree with the new layout of this site. Slicker in appearance but at a cost. I miss seeing the dates of the story posting as well. Great site, I visit it daily but I was saddened to see it take a vague step (backwards) in usefulness.

... and a bunch of naked

and a bunch of almost naked girls around Macintosh Daily News!!! This format is not acceptable with those crapy ads on MacNN pages. Making money is good but don't forget who this site is made for.

MacNN had this problem before when few years ago they switched to a similar layout. And what did happen? A couple of days later they switched back.

It is perfectly welcome to redesign a website, but do it very carefully especially changing the layout. Remember - your customers right you a paycheck

    have to agree

I hate the new layout. The new one is in no way an improvement over the old one...it now takes longer to get to the info you want to read, since the tiny headlines don't give you a good idea if you want to read the rest of the story.

    Bring back the old format...please!
