Aquafadas iDive 1.5 ships
Aquafadas today released , the latest version of its popular digital video cataloging and editing product. iDive l.5 features "Mosaic," a powerful new feature that allows users to create and share motion graphics from digital video footage in a matter of minutes. "Mosaic solves the main problem plaguing DV users: that their friends and families never see anything they‚ve shot on tape because video editing is too time consuming a task," says Matthieu Kopp, Aquafadas' CEO. "With Mosaic, iDive users now have a way to bypass video editing entirely, and as an alternative, automatically generate fun animations from their iDive DV catalogue. For busy people, that‚s a huge advantage: it moves their digital video from the shoebox to someone's inbox." The full version is $70, while the update is $30.
The Mosaic feature offers users the ability to generate a variety of "striking and fun animations--a spinning globe, a cartoon like assembly line, an elegant museum presentation--by automatically loading all the data that iDive has intelligently captured and catalogued: the highest rated images, clip titles and annotation information." Users can now integrate motion graphics into client presentations and create animated portfolios.
Leveraging Mac OS X Tiger,, Mosaic uses Tiger's CoreImage technology advances in graphics and imaging, enabling animations to be exported as QuickTime files, streamed directly to a video camcorder or sent to iTunes--ready for export to Apple's iPod video. iDive 1.5 with Mosaic was previewed at Apple Expo 2005 in Paris.
iDive offers a robust on-screen digital video shoebox to store clips and still images. The application includes innovative tools that make navigation both easy and fast, regardless of the number of clips being stored. Key features include power previews, customizable views, "drag & drop" attribute tagging, and a timeline display.
