President Bush discloses iPod playlist

President discusses iPod

President George Bush yesterday in greater detail with Sky News, noting various artists as he toyed with Apple's "high tech stuff." The Commander In-Chief perused his selections, listing the Beach Boys, the Beatles, Aretha Franklin, and "Dan" McLean as favored artists, among others. One bystander quickly corrected the president, reminding him that Don, not Dan, was the artist who sang "American Pie." Bush remarked that "Bono came in and dropped his new iPod on me," comparing his older device to the lead singer of U2's iPod nano. "This is a clunker compared to the newer version," Bush said. The president failed to mention whether Bono's singing with U2 is among his selections, according to InformationWeek. Bush also took time to mention that his iPod "can shuffle the shuffle."

Rumor has it that the presidential iPod is actually filled with recordings of the secret torture sessions that Bush allows to happpen under his watch, making us the laughing stock of the international community (and hypocrites to boot). Plus I think it has some Kenny Chesney songs, which are turture in of themselves.

Yes, Lieberman is a fine example of a Democratic politician. He is first an American. He agrees with his fellow American's on principles and differs with them on policy and implementation. He has the guts to go to Iraq, see for himself and come back here and tell people what he's seen.

Just like here, the north and south of Iraq are under going massive economic growth. Luxury apartment blocks, cell phone systems, holiday resorts. Everything you'd expect in a civilized country. Small sections of central Iraq are where most of the danger is and that is rapidly subsiding as the people reject the violence of terrorists which has been primarily aimed at civilians.

The Sunni's know they can't win a civil war because they are out numbered 4:1. They recognize that the only way forward is through the democratic process which is why 80% of Iraq's population WALKED to vote yesterday. If we had to walk in this country how many of you would honestly show up. Considering rain almost halves the turnout here, I'd be surprised if any of you would turn up no matter who's side you're on.

The Democrats have invested themselves in the defeat of the United States and therefore have assured themselves a place in the political wilderness for as long as they hold that line. When the dust settles and the current leadership are deposed, people like Lieberman will be the ones who take a once great party back from the extremists in this country.

Reagan said that he didn't leave the democrats, they left him. I wonder how many more Republican presidents are going to say the same thing over the next 30 years.

I don't really care what's on GW's iPod - what ever it is we can safely assume someone gave it to him, he didn't understand how to use it, and if it breaks, he'll blame someone else (in other words, it'll be a lot like his presidency.)

Gawd, I hate American politicians and the garbage they always come up with. In my honest opinion, the US doesn't even have politics. They have two parties so close to each other in all respects, it doesn't really matter which wins the elections. And with either of them winning, the people surely aren't the ones benefiting from it.

And then, indeed, as I always hear from overseas, the media in the US. Jeez, what a horrible country it must be to live in. Seriously. I, for one, am very, very glad to be European...

As for the left extremests who would sell our country to terrorists just to try and pin the blame on Bush, And the dem spokes man..Dean who enjoys seeing our troops in harms way (ie: death toll over 2100, higher is better) can't contain himself while selling out our country. Europe, What a joke

Some europeans, The pompous class, Clueless to true evil, The saying "Liberalism is a mental disorder" fits their nieveate on the world. I was once very very liberal but then I noticed after 9/11 that my democrat party seemed to be on the side of the evil. Always seeming to justify,side or appease with dictators and not give powers to fight terrorism. Europe would be speaking Chinese, Russian or Arabic if it was not for the USA. They would get taken over by all the evil people that live around then in a heart beat. You have disbanded your militaries so far they are almost totally ineffective. Your governments just rely on the USA to be there with it's military to save your asss again. You europeans would surrender and wave the white flag. Then we the USA would have to save you again! The universities have made you pompous idiots, the Vidkun Quislings of the world. They only hear liberal views while in college and then they get out in the real world and they are so brain washed by their professors ( Quisling) views of the world, they hear a conservative democrat views and they think it's Adolph Hitler. To put the USA and hitler in the same breath shows how totally intellectually dishonest you are to yourself..That is proof how way out there they are. You europeans better start learning Arabic because they are slowly taking over you countries, and like Vidkun Quisling you will just hand over you counties to the Arabs. The only thing he did right was one good speech after 9-11, and the invasion of Afghanistan, which actually was related to terrorism. Anyone that is OK with Bush's reaction to Hurricane Katrina and his continual stonewalling of any factual information regarding the invasion of Iraq, should be ashamed. It even goes beyond that. Without giving away my (surprise!) political affiliation, that as a Machead I can respect the fact that say, Rush Limbaugh mentions Macs and Mac tech on his huge radio show each week and is likely responsible for the purchase of more Macs than Jobs will ever dare admit, yet not one(!) Mac magazine or Apple will acknowledge his Mac sales effect and evangelism less existence, but they will mention an obscenely overpaid gutter mouth who has zit contributions toward the Mac. I just want to hear Mac views from all sides; if I want to hear politics I can turn the channel. The partisanship of Mac magazines and yes, even Apple itself, just gets my craw! It really strains paying your subscription sometimes.

ibugv4, have you every tried to rise a segway? I have - they take some getting used to. I watched a room of 20 people try and ride one and every one of them had problems with balance. It takes some getting used to. Have you seen how well the president rides mountain bikes? I bet his balance is much better than most peoples.

Yeah, I admire Europe. They have historical perspective. America is being pretty reactive, and yes our media is junk, and yes our political system is broken, and yes the people who say "arabs will kill your family" are way too prevalent.

Personally, I just wish we who can, would do our best help suffering people everywhere. I guess that doesn't make for good politics because it doesn't make enemies. But it can be done from anywhere you are. Somewhere nearby someone needs help, and if you have the time, please make an effort. It's supposed to be the season for it, but 99% of professed christians prefer to stick with them-and-theirs, which although counter to the teachings of JC is what sells best in every milieux.

If I spoke better Italian, Spanish, Dutch, or French I'd love to move to Europe for a while and get to know people who have a legacy of hardship, plagues, famine, wars, and austerity. America is very shortsighted right now, and pissing itself over very little.

National TV, multiple channels and more than a minute of air time by the leader of the free world. Not bad for a couple of kids who worked out of a garage at one time.
