SpongeBob SquarePants

Aspyr today announced that the Mac version of game is now available in retail stores. The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie game, based on the hit movie from Nickelodeon Movies Paramount Pictures, brings underwater antics from the big screen to your Mac with a collection of mini games, including Bubble Popping, Driving Games and an Ice Cream Eating Contest. These action games feature characters from the movie, Plankton and King Neptune, along with the fan-favorite duo SpongeBob and Patrick, as they explore three modes of gameplay including Travel Mode, Challenge Mode and Versus Mode. SpongeBob SquarePants is available for $30 and requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later.

According to Aspyr, SpongeBob SquarePants is the number one show for kids on all TV and was one of the most popular movies of 2004--opening at $33.5 million during the first weekend and grossing $85 million domestically and over $140 million worldwide.

"Opening with trouble in Bikini Bottom, someone has stolen King Neptune's crown and it looks like Mr. Krabs is the culprit! Though he's just been passed over for the promotion of his dreams, SpongeBob stands by his boss, and along with his best friend Patrick, sets out on a treacherous mission to Shell City to reclaim the crown and save Mr. Krabs' life."

The game takes players on a heroic, comedic quest to new and unexplored territory. Players will assume the identity of either SpongeBob or Patrick -- each with their own set of unique maneuvers -- and work together to save Mr. Krabs and all of Bikini Bottom. Along the way, they will interact with favorite characters from the movie, including authentic voices and special cameo appearances.
