Video iPod demand up
A Bear Stearns retail survey found that demand for Apple's video iPod is , and may be proving even more popular in some retail locations. Current demand for iPods is so great that tight supplies are driving customers to seek out other MP3 players from Apple's competitors. Bear Stearns found that iPods and laptops are still the most sought after technology categories for the second week of its retail holiday survey, according to a report from Reuters. Bear Stearns interviewed 36 randomly selected stores from 20 states regarding sales relative to expectations, inventory, and pricing trends for its survey--which excluded direct selling channels and Apple Stores.

Supplies are tight?
"demand for iPods is so great that tight supplies are driving customers to seek out other MP3 players from Apple's competitors."
Now this is what I see a lot everytime they talk about new Apple products, but as always, if I want this certain item, I walk to a shop and they have it. Is someone from Apple spreading a rumour that supplies are tight and that you have to run to ensure you your item? Buy it today, don't wait for tomorrow as they might be out of stock? Not a very reliable report. Also, I would never buy another product if I want an iPod. Who would?
