100M songs in Europe

Apple today announced that it has sold 100 million songs in Europe, saying that an iTunes user in Belgium has won its . The 100 millionth download in Europe, downloaded by Ken Reist, was Mozart's album "Die Zauberflöte" (The Magic Flute). Reist was awarded a 17-inch iMac G5, a 30GB iPod, a 10,000-song gift card for the iTunes Music Store, and two tickets to see Robbie Williams in concert. Apple initially launched the store in Europe in June of 2004 and within 18 months has sold over 100 million songs.

    Comment?

Just tried to post a comment... hasn't showed up yet. A new feature of the redesign perhaps? ;)

    A. be a bit more generous

Oh, come on Apple, be a bit more generous: give the guy a 20inch iMac and a 60GB iPod, it is just a few hunderd euro's more ... Don't forget: with the 10.000 song gift card the 30GB iPod is simply too small to contain all songs. (He won't be able to complain, being on the happy receiving side, so it is up to us to push a little).

Are you insane. We are talking about a European. The guy's lucky Apple even recognizes the continent even exists (well, they kind of recognize it).

    culture

It just shows how culture in this country has slipped.

Someone here these days in the US would likely have won after buying "Die MF" by Killer and His Murderers

    Or worse, Christina Aguilera.

Or even worse then that, the "Pull My Finger! The f*** CD". Now that would've been hillarious. "The 100 millionth song purchased was 'Prelude to a c***'."

Oh, wait, that's the same thing, isn't it.
