Firefox 1.5 released
Mozilla has released the final version of the Mac OS X support is now available for download from GetFirefox.com for most major operating systems or from the mirrors. According to the MozillaZine, users of the release candidates should receive the update soon. Firefox 1.5 introduces several new features, including an improved software update system, faster Back/Forward page navigation, a new options to clear private browsing data, drag-and-drop reordering of browser tabs, a redesigned Options/Preferences window and more robust popup blocking. The release also improves security, accessibility and standards support, adding support for Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), JavaScript 1.6, and CSS2/CSS3. It also includes a better RSS discovery, a Broken Site Wizard, and better migration from Safari and Internet Explorer for Mac users.

Safari integration?

The server isn't set right. Safari downloads it in the window, not as a file.

How come no browser other than Safari has decent integrated RSS support?

You have to use an older version of Firefox just to download the new version, since Safari loads the .dmg as a bunch of text. I've never seen this problem before from other developers, so I wonder why Mozilla can't get a DMG to download correctly within Safari.

Funny, but other language versions do download correctly - click on the link for "other systems and languages" and try it. Unfortunately, the British version is still 1.0.7.

I tried dropping off the "Firefox%201.5.dmg" at the end of the URL, which displays the directory it's supposed to be in ... it's not there

it's not server config
11/30, 12:38pm reply
It's not a server config problem, Safari is content-sniffing instead of using the content type sent by the server and their content-sniffer is broken. See http://bugzilla.opendarwin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5883
