RedleX updates Mellel 2.0 word processor
"Mellel 2.0 is a huge step forward for us," says Eyal Redler, CTO at RedleX. "Our mission with Mellel was always to provide the ideal word processor for scholars and writers. Now, with the current version, we're making a significant move to also fill the void left when FrameMaker for the Mac was abandoned by Adobe," he adds. The unique thing about the new features, he claims, is not the features, but the level of sophistication and control Mellel 2.0 offers with them. "Those are things you could only find in a page layout application until now," he adds.
Mellel 2.0 also adds several new features and enhancements tailored to the requirements and needs of writers and scholars. "When you run forward, it's easy to forget that the main task of a word processor is to cater to its user's needs," claims Guy Hivroni, cofounder and chief GUI designer for Mellel. "We pay special care to never forget that: new features such as background colour for documents, dashed borders and lines and, first and foremost, a vastly improved RTF export and import support are tribute to that."
