Gambit 1.0 released

Aqueous Software has released , a Mac OS X application for chess play and analysis. Gambit allows games to be played against the chess engine "Crafty," which can use an opening book and endgame tablebases, and also "learns" as it plays. Gambit allows completed chess games to be recorded, replayed, annotated, and analyzed. The level of play can be adjusted, the board appearance can be customized, and the style of chess pieces can be selected. Other features include 100% compatibility with the PGN format standard and support for game annotation (with standard punctuation and evaluation glyphs, variations). It requires Mac OS X 10.3 or later and is available as shareware for $20 or as a 30-day limited demo.
