Intuit has posted information on the forthcoming release of the next version of its business management software for the Mac, although the company has not made any official announcement on the product. offers new features including Mac OS X Tiger support, the ability to download and import bank/credit card transactions, and realtime synchronization of contacts with Tiger's Address Book or other applications that support Tiger sync--such as cell phones and PDAs. The upgrade offers improvements to running payroll integrated with QuickBooks, sharing data between Mac and Windows installations, and toolbar customization. QuickBooks: Pro 2006 for Mac can instantly create over 100 reports and features a new integrated online payroll service. It is expected to be available in late November for $200, which includes 30 days of support. (The company will not be offering upgrade pricing, according to the FAQ.)
