"Droidmaker" (1/11/06 at 11:30 a.m) Michael Rubin, author of “Droidmaker: George Lucas and the Digital Revolution,” will discuss how the remarkable tools now on every Mac began as revolutionary notions in the late 1960s, from radicals like Lucas and his friend Francis Coppola. Concurrent with the making of The Empire Strikes Back, Lucas launched research so prolific, and yet so private, that few realize its impact on editing, audio, video games and computer graphics. Rubin gives the inside story of George Lucas and spins a tale of movies, technology and friendships.
