TIME on Apple

TIME Magazine focuses on Apple in its latest issue, which is now on sale. The magazine calls Apple "the world's ," and says, "conventional wisdom says its strategy is wrong, yet it keeps turning out great products." The report looks at Apple's creative team, including engineering vice president Fadell, iPod head Jon Rubinstein, industrial design chief Ive, CEO Jobs and marketing director Philip Schiller. "This is partly a story about a company called Apple Computer. It's also partly a story about a fancy new iPod that plays videos as well as music and that could dramatically change the way people entertain themselves. But it's mostly a story about new things and where they come from, about which there are a few popular misconceptions.'

    eminem ipod spot

I noticed the 'pulled' Eminem iPod ad aired during the American League Championship Series game (Astros-Cardinals) yesterday. It was not on Apple's site yesterday. This AM there is a thumbnail of it for the TV ads link on the main iPod page, but no actual spot posted yet for viewing. Just the U2 spot.

    eminem spot

Yeah, it was plastered all over TV yesterday. Although I don't see what the big deal is, its just a commercial. Certainly wasn't something that I'd rewind my tivo for to see again.

However, wasn't this the same guy who sued apple for using one of his songs because he didn't want his music to be degraded by being used for advertising?

No. This is the guy who sued Apple because when asked permission to use his song for a commercial, he said no, but Apple used it anyway.

    same song

take note that the song Eminem sued Apple for using is also the same song used in the current t.v. ad. I think Apple got their way, one way or the other.
