DEVON updates products

DEVONtechnologies today released maintenance updates for . The update for DEVONthink Professional 1.0.2 brings many detail enhancements: rich text cross-links to other documents; groups or files/folders can be created via drag-and-drop; a new Finder contextual menu plug-in; and import of unsupported file packages such as Apple Pages or Keynote files. In addition, Applescript and Automator support has been further extended, with new scripts and workflows. DEVONthink Professional requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, and is available for $75.

Certain scripts that ship with DEVONthink Professional 1.0.2 are updated and optimized for Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), and a new integrated add-on installer handles installing/updating additional scripts, PDF services scripts, and the Finder plug-in. DEVONthink Professional 1.0.2 sorts items by comment, supports new file name extensions for plain text files, improves the accuracy of the "See Also" and "Classify" A.I. commands, and accepts a minimal word length of one character in the concordance window.

DEVONthink Personal inherits many features from the professional edition: cross-link creation via drag-and-drop; sorting by comment; easier handling of file packages; additional plain text file types; and compatibility/performance enhancements. The contextual menu of text, PDF, and PostScript views provide a new "See Selected Text" command designed to find other documents that are contextually related to a selected piece of text. DEVONthink Personal requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, and is available for $40.

EasyFind 3.8.1 searches for files and folders up to 2.3 times faster than previous versions, and offers improved French localization. Version 3.8.1 also displays the full path name of search results in tooltips. EasyFind 3.8.1 is freeware, and requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
