Toon Boom Solo: animation software for small studios

Toon Boom Solo released


Toon Boom Animation has released , a new stand-alone animation software solution designed to meet the needs of small size studios and independent animation filmmakers. Solo offers "a new level of creativity, efficiency and simplified workflow to produce animation of the highest quality for film, video, television, web sites, games and mobile devices." Solo offers morphing, inverse kinematics, glue and special effects, while integrating into any existing pipeline. Other tools include those for vector-based drawing, ink and paint, lip sync, realtime preview/playback, and QT/SWF/TGA rendering. Toon Boom Solo is expected to ship on September 30, 2005. Toon Boom Solo comes with a DVD case and CD, a security key (dongle), Keyboard Shortcuts and Installation and Getting Started Guide, tutorials as well as a two-volume user guide. Pricing is $3,000, while support packages are $250 (1-year) and $450 (2-years).
