, the new version of its antivirus program for Macs that incorporates a range of new features that have been designed to provide users with advanced protection against all known viruses, including Word and Excel macro viruses and also viruses that target Windows computers. Intego VirusBarrier X4 is a full Cocoa application that works in the background, alerts the user if any viruses are detected, and does not need to be disabled when installing other software, according to the company. It brings a new dynamically resizable interface, monitoring of emails for viruses, log/schedule management, secure zone creation, integration with iCal, scanning of compressed files, a contextual menu item, temporary deactivation, and more. It is available for Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later and can be purcahsed for $70 ($45 upgrade).
