Dell DJ Ditty to compete with Shuffle

Dell DJ Ditty

Dell today rolled out its new portable digital music player to compete with Apple's iPod shuffle, dubbed the Digital Jukebox Ditty. Dell claims the DJ Ditty's capacity of 512MB stores up to 220 songs, but Apple claims the iPod shuffle (with the same 512MB capacity) stores only 120 songs. The device boasts up to 14 hours of battery life (compared to the Shuffle's 12 hour charge), and supports WMA/MP3/WAV formats. The DJ Ditty measures 3.6 x 1.1 x 0.5 inches and weighs 1.29 ounces. The 1.02 x .43-inch display with 96x32 dot matrix resolution provides visual feedback during usage, stressing the lack of a screen on the iPod shuffle. The DJ Ditty is priced at $100 including 90-day service, Music Match 10.1 software, and earbuds.
