JavaScript web editing

HardCore Internet Ltd. has released version 6.0 of the , a user friendly WYSIWYG HTML web content editor component that can be inserted into web pages, web content management systems and other web applications. The JavaScript-based system enables users to edit and add web site content via a web browser. It includes more than 60 editing and formatting functions. Version 6.0 of the HardCore Web Content Editor introduces full support for the Mac OS X Safari v2.0.1+ web browser as well as the Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0+, Mozilla Firefox 0.7+, Mozilla 1.3+, Netscape 7.1+, Epiphany and Galeon browsers. It is available now for $40 (single website/single server license) or $150 (single website, multiple servers).

The company says that the HardCore Web Content Editor is the first JavaScript WYSIWYG HTML editor to add full support for advanced functionality for Safari, Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox/Netscape. Based on standard HTML and JavaScript technology, it does not require users to download and install special software for them to use the editor.

"The latest versions of Safari add basic support for the contentEditable/designMode technology already used in Internet Explorer and Mozilla. The HardCore Web Content Editor builds on this technology and extends it significantly to provide advanced editing and formatting functionality."

The new version of the HardCore Web Content Editor also gives developers more flexibility in matching the layout of the editor to their existing website or web content management system design. Version 6.0 of the HardCore Web Content Editor provides a number of different web content editor toolbar designs and colors. Additional skins can easily be added, according to the company.

The HardCore Web Content Editor runs on any standard web server and includes advanced support for ASP, ASP.NET, ColdFusion, JSP and PHP server-side scripting languages as well as basic support for any other server-side script languages such as Perl, Python and Ruby.
