LiveQuartz Image Editor

Romain Piveteau today released , an update to the free CoreImage editor. The update brings new drawing tools, adds some shortcuts, and improves the behavior of painting tools. "This software is aimed at all people that need a powerful basic image editor to easy manipulate layers, transparency and filters. LiveQuartz is built around layers and filters. Each photo dropped to its window is converted into a new layer, which could have several filters applied in realtime. It used a one window interface without palette like iLife applications." It offers common editing tools (brush, duplication, eraser, etc.), support for text layers, and realtime previews of effects. The software requires Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, is available as "donationware", and is localized in English, Chinese, German and French.
