Apple ranks among top \"gas-proof\" stocks

Apple \"gas-proof\"

Apple is second among the Motley Fool's list of seven "" stocks. While many organizations --from petroleum companies to Wal-Mart-- have been affected by, or blamed for, the soaring cost of crude oil, there are are also "plenty of stocks sitting pretty, miles away from the nearest pump." For example, the iPod is "the gadget of choice for active pedestrians and public-transportation commuters," according to the report. And when it comes to iTunes, "folks have purchased more than 350 million songs that are digitally and instantly delivered. You don't have to drive out to the record store. And pressed CDs don't have to be driven about through various layers of physical distribution."

    Motley Fuckwits

and if soaring gas prices (thank you very much George W. a******) keep people from spending money on pricey gadgets like the iPod and Mac computers which sell for a premium???? Then what happens to MF's loony theory that some stocks are 'gas-proof'???

Just a cute hook for an article, nothing more.

    Holy c***!

Motley Fool said something even remotely NICE about Apple?

What happened to all the forecasts of doom?

" But isn't most plastic made from petroleum-based polymers?" Yes! Everything we or make do needs petroleum in one form or another.

I guess this means a Dual 2.5GHz G5 PowerMac will soon cost less than a 1.8GHz iMac G5?

    Funny.

Apple is actually helping make the entire society more efficient.

When those quadcores that use less than 1.5 watts come out two years from now, we'll be even more sophisticated.

--- not driving around as much will certainly save gas --- paperless finances will help a lot too
