Iconfactory today unveiled its latest stock icon collection, "Plateau." Fun and playful, Plateau's bold colors and quirky lines can bring a retro feel to any application or website. Come on. That's a full upgrade to your favorite software. I don't personally think the creativity or overall beauty of these icons even begins to approach a price tag like that. Please report in if you've dropped $350 for these.

While there are companies that are dumping money for these things, I have yet to really see a lot of people dropping money for them. I think all of these folks would be better served to release cheaper variants of these sets or release them at per icon pricing so smaller developers can buy what they need, as its far cheaper to simply find a contract artist to produce icons in the exact style and size that you want on the various artist hangouts or contract locales.
