It seems like they don't realize the cord is shorter because on the mac you plug it to the keyboard. On the same token I could then list the length of a mouse meant for the PC as a minus because yau get excessive length. On my starck mouse I have the excess rolled and tied up.
say anything positive about Apple products? They positively gush about DELL's me-too, cheaply-assembled offerings but always find a bone to pick with anything Apple makes.
They say good things about apple products all the time. However, they're more likely not just going to roll over and bark like a dog just because Apple releases a product.
"just a poster" - I don't see your point. The review seems to have several positive things to say about the mouse. Talking about the scroll ball, the phrase "I absolutely love it" does sound fairly positive, no? They do have a few negative points which - on the face of it at least - do sound justified.
The point about the cord length does need to be raised. Not everyone will have a corded keyboard to plug it into. Unfortunately even Apple don't mention that point on their tech spec page which I think is unfortunate.
Ars is pretty cool with the Mac. As they state, they are "platform agnostic", which means that they generally don't give in as easily to Steve's RDF. But, there are a lot of Mac fans at Ars. I don't think it's fair to bash them because they point out the bad as well as the good.

smoke-tetsu - maybe you would plug it into your keyboard but I have a wireless keyboard so would have to plug it into the back of my iMac G5!

Get one, try it, you like it-use it, you don't-toss it on the dumpster full of 2 year old Dells that had to be upgraded.
