Henrico residents get first shot at iBooks

Following the buzz generated by the to buy the iBooks and postponed the sale by one week. The Henrico School had planned to sell-off some of its remaining iBook G3s for $50; the laptops were used by high school students as part of a one-on-one laptop initiative. The Henrico County Board of Supervisors today passed an ordinance 4-0 to allow taxpayers to buy county property (including iBooks) sold at a fixed price before the property is offered to the general public, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Now scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday August 16, the sale is open to anyone who resides in or pays taxes on property in Henrico.
