Wondertouch today announced that for Mac OS X is now available. The Mac OS X version of particleIllusion 3.0 offers each of the features found in its Windows counterpart, including 'super emitters,' 'forces' that improve integration into existing production environments, and new color options. The online rendering engine improvements deliver higher-quality image output and additional effects creation benefits. New customers can purchase particleIllusion 3.0 for Mac OS X for an introductory price of $350 (online).

The software allows users to create high-quality, complex particle animations it features access to particleIllusion's library of more than 1300 preset particle emitters, which deliver a range of exceptional effects including smoke, fire, explosions, water effects, sparkles, colorful artistic effects, for unprecedented flexibility and enhanced productivity.

"particleIllusion 3.0 for Windows has clearly established itself as the leading standalone particle effects tool for high-end production use. Mac professionals will appreciate the extensive feature set in 3.0 for creating quality particle effects quickly and efficiently in real-time," said Alan Lorence, president of wondertouch. particleIllusion 3.0 for Mac OS X is available for immediate download; The software is $400 with a $50 rebate available until August 31, 2005. The company says a boxed version will be available in the "near future," but did not provide specific details. Existing owners of particleIllusion SE for OS X can upgrade for $300 with the a $50 discount offered through August 31, 2005 as well. Owners of particleIllusion 2.0 for OS 8/9 can upgrade to particleIllusion 3.0 for $50.
