Ableton ships Live 5


Ableton today offered the first public showing of Live 5 at the 2005 Summer NAMM in Indianapolis, IN. , which is now shipping, offers several new features and enhancements fo creation, production and performance, including new sound-shaping and organizational tools, "Clip Freeze" for freeing up CPU power and easing the transfer of projects between computers, automatic plug-In delay compensation, new Launchable Arrangement Locators for arrangement/song-position markers with MIDI mapping and quantized recall, and Mackie Control with support for Tascam’s FW-1082/1884, Yamaha’s 01X and Mackie Control. Live 5 is available now for $500 with upgrades priced at $120 (electonic) or $150 (boxed).

Live is designed for each stage of the musical process, from creation to production to performance. "In the creative stage, Live is transparent, intuitive and responsive, capturing inspiration and encouraging the flow of musical ideas. During production, Live provides all of the professional tools and studio compatibility required to complete and perfect projects. On stage, Live delivers the expressive control and stability that innumerable performing artists have come to rely on. Live 5—from inspiration to studio to stage. Create. Produce. Perform."

Other new features include MP3 support; automatic tempo-matching; a new Complex Warp Mode, new Clip Transport allows for on-the-fly performance-enhancing looping, editing and shuffling; Live Clips for easy export, an improved browser, preset management, device groups, beat repeat, Phaser/Flanger, auto-pan, and more.
