RadioShack to sell Apple iPods

Apple and RadioShack have reportedly entered into a partnership that will deliver Apple's full line of iPods to the shelves of thousands of RadioShack electronics stores in time for this year's holiday shopping season, according to an AppleInsider report published this afternoon. "According to industry sources, RadioShack, the nation's No. 1 electronics specialty retailer, has agreed to carry Apple's full mix of iPod digital music players at several thousands locations beginning the fourth calendar quarter of the year." RadioShack has reportedly agreed to purchase at least 450,000 iPods during the initial three-month period.

Hip factor that is. When Radio Shack starts selling a particular product, what was once cool becomes commonplace and ubiquitous. But the iPod has already been this way for a quite a while now. Still love mine though.

I've seen HP iPod's in Radio Shack for months. And the "we've got blank stares" comment is unfortunately coming true. It's sad because years ago employees there seemed to be a lot more knowledgable about electronics.

Radio Shack has always been the whipping boy for the geeks out there- People have been saying the same thing 10 years ago..and probably 20 for that matter. Gosh, is Radio Shack employees give you blank stares, what do you get when you ask a Best Buy employee a question?!?! The whole statement about employee knowledge is sooo tired. Give them a break. They are paid the same way they have been for 20 years too.

"You've got questions, we've got blank stares." -- I thought it was funny - but you are right, pretty much any retail establishment these days. :-(

back in the day, Radio Shack was hands down the best place to go to get CB paraphernalia. ( 'citizen band radio' for don't remember the movie Convoy and Smokey & the Bandit ) :-)

Everybody makes fun of Radio Snack but it has always been a great place of last resort to find a component you need. Having said that . . . Apple is really on a f'ing roll now, Farina is gone from HP and SJ is moving in.
