Nvu Web creation
(pronounced N-view, for a "new view") is a complete Web Authoring System for Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows users. It is designed to rival mainstream programs like Microsoft FrontPage and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Nvu "makes managing a web site a snap," the developer says. "Now anyone can create web pages and manage a website with no technical expertise or knowledge of HTML." It includes integrated file management via FTP and reliable HTML code creation that will work with all of today's most popular browsers. Nvu is 100% open source. Anyone can download Nvu at no charge, including the source code to make changes.

It's been around for a long time. Before it was part of the Netscape/Mozilla suite. It was called Composer.
It's pretty good, and easy to use. Check it out.
Here's my simple site built using NVU

to be fair, this is the mozilla with everything but the page composer ripped out of it, as allowed by its open source license.
The first beta versions were simply mozilla with new text replacing the name - this is much faster, the rest of mozilla is 99.9% gone, and it does a decent job of page layout and preview - best since Claris Home Page and the price is perfect.
Could we get down to *one* formatting toolbar though?

I've tried it out when it was a beta. Very promising but too buggy at the time. I like the v.1.0. It fixed the most annoying bugs. Definately worth look. Best of all, it's free.
