    seems a little low

For a full year in Europe, 50 mill seems a little low.

Yep, seems low to me too

I know there were only, what, three or four countries to start, but didn't nine more join a few months after? We'll see by next year...

    Ooops :)

Guess I could have read the linked stories above. It was three countries to start in June last year, then nine more in October.

Wish there was an edit function in these threads. Doh!

    Could be a lot more..

I can only speak for Sweden, but many top-selling songs and artists are not available on iTMS, but are on competing download services. The Swedish single chart moves fast, and iTMS often lacks the hot songs. I think a lot of people (especially young ones) has browsed around, got disappointed and won't come back.

Also, the local stores really need some kind of editorial work. Hot stuff should be properly displayed, tributes to recently deceased artists published etc - just like in the US store. If you don't do this, you won't sell as much.

And quite a few Swedish tracks, albums and artists are spelled wrong. Doesn't really look like the kind of quality you'd like to associate with Apple. And it's really annoying since you can't change titles of stuff you bought.

I recently heard of a big Swedish label that wanted to sell their catalogue on iTMS, but have been waiting months for Apple to provide them with the tools they need. In other cases, I'm sure it's the labels who are slow...

But anyway, if Apple wan't more sales, they need to look at the local competition and the quality they currently are offering.

    I bought 40 of those...

.. tracks, and that from the Danish - just opened - store.

But I have to admit, that the lack of local tunes, hot tunes etc simply keep sales down...

    I to bought some 45

songs from the danish store. The stor lacks the major part of the Danish artist due to a specifik danish problem that has not been solved yet. Can you seach for artist by contry? I havenīt tried but it would be cool if you could.
